Anderson is the only incorporated community in the Denali Borough. The community of Clear is located approximately 5 miles south of Anderson, along the George Parks Hwy. Identifying when you are “in town” might be tricky.

Healy, the largest community in the Denali Borough celebrated its Centennial in 2019. The area broadly known as Healy today, found its start in mining, when the United States Geological Survey explored the local area to evaluate mineral, timber and animal resources.

The Denali Park Canyon begins approximately 1 mile north of the entrance to Denali National Park, extends another 7 miles, following the Nenana River. The first mile serves as the main tourism hub for visitors as a large number of services, tour companies, retail shops are located in this area.

The area known as McKinley Park Village is 8 miles south of the entrance to Denali National Park, borders park lands directly, with the Nenana River acting as a natural divide.

The Carlo Creek of today grew from the homestead of the Stoepler family, begun in the late 1950’s. The 12-acre original property grew to hold 10 cabins, which were handcrafted by the family.

The community of Cantwell is the southernmost town in the Denali Borough. It is near to Denali, at a short 25 minute drive, so don’t be afraid to experience this neighboring community.

The Denali Highway opened in 1957, and was the first road access to Denali National Park. This gravel highway is 135 miles long, which makes for a unique travel experience.
